A creative and skilled Visual Effects Compositing Artist with over ten years feature film experience, looking for challenging and interesting projects to collaborate on, to increase my experience and further my career in visual effects. Please check out my reel and a selection of some work. With the original intention of studying painting I was enticed into the relatively new artistic program Time Based Art at Duncan or Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Scotland. Under this general heading, the disciplines of photography, video, computer imaging, multimedia and Internet creation and electronic media in general, were integrated as means for creative and experimental expression. Along with traditional art practice methods and training, I acquired skills in these areas and a thorough knowledge of digital media. Having completed a BA Hons in Fine Art I was employed as a 3D imaging specialist and became a key member of a core team providing scanning and visualisation services, that included: 3D laser scanning, 3D model creation, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, 3D deviation analysis, quality assurance, e-learning and Multimedia presentations. We created high-end 3D models for the British museum, scanned turbine blades for Rolls Royce, scanned an animation model for The Tale of Despereaux, scanned and rapid prototyped numerous bones and skulls for the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification, University of Dundee and many more . I went on to complete a Master of Science Degree in Electronic Imaging at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. A part taught, part research course that allowed me to explore and push forward my compositing and motion graphic skills. The course allowed me to extend my critical and analytical thinking, self-evaluation and reflective practice as well as focusing self motivated production. The course was an opportunity to put together a showreel that then allowed me to break into film. I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch. Thanks for stopping by.
